Okay- off the topic of my dizzy ears.
I need some book suggestions from all your readers out there. What books would you love to see adapted into a movie? As you all know, Y and I usually work in Rom/Coms (er, romantic comedies) but we're flexible. And we're looking for ideas. Please don't limit yourself to just one - we're fast readers! And if you suggest a great book, and we make it into a movie - we'll thank you in the credits!
This would be a great time for any lurkers with good ideas to come out of the closet, too!
And to thank you in advance - I offer you this photo of me in 1973 being held by Aunt Sheryl (with my grandma looking on). Because my Aunt Sheryl has the world's most amazing hair.
Love,
The Stumbly Woman with Cotton In Her Ear and Extremely Gross Hair.

dude you HAVE to show your son this picture so he can appreciate just how lucky he is to have his aunties.
does it have to be a rom com?
I think you would look fly in that hair.
And no - it doesn't have to a rom/com.
Ride the Wind is the best book eva- would make an AMAZING movie
Three books I recently read and enjoyed:
"My Antonia" by Willa Cather.
A turn of the century novel about an unconventional, headstrong immigrant girl in rural Nebraska.
"No One Belongs Here More Than You" by Miranda July.
A collection of quirky, strangely moving, often sexually perverse short stories.
"A Moveable Feast" by Hemingway.
A funny tell-all memoir about his years in Paris hanging out with F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, etc.
Not sure if the rights are available (maybe for the 1st book, probably not the other two). And not sure if any of them are at all cinematic. But that's all I got for now...
By the way, I was just reading about your horrible ear surgery recovery & sympathizing greatly. Glad to hear you're feeling better.
Oh, and happy belated anniversary!
Hugs,
Erin
Explosion in The Cathedral by Alejo Carpentier. Of c ourse, we're talking mega-epic and a problem of of dealing with the "exotication" of indigenous people. Just the opening section of the book would make an amazing amazing movie.
Great hair!
For some reason, Margot Livesey's "Banishing Verona" comes to mind.
I know I will think of more but I have to mention Urusula, Under by Ingrid Hill.
I feel like I've been waiting 10 years for someone to ask this question :)
Ahab's Wife by Sena J. Naslund.
I think about this book as a movie quite often (it's my favorite book.)
The Middle Ground by Margaret Drabble, The Blue Shoe by Anne Lamott, Buddha Da by Anne Donovan, Goddess for Hire by Sonia Singh (very light, but fun).
They are all on the romantic side, except for the first, which is British and darkly funny.
I'll try to think of more!
Not sure if this is up your alley, but Kaya and I have almost finished the most excellent book- would be a cool movie- The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane- Would be a beautiful kid movie. And being that I've been keeping Kaya up later than she wants to stay up to read one more chapter, good for all ages, I think!
I hope you're no longer stumbly or have bloody hair! When you're up to it, let's play!
I like non fiction. How about more stories about women in medicine? Also, the book "Stiff" is great, but probably too depressing for some. Hope you are recovering well!
Hudson says you Aunt has " a cra-aa-aa-zy hairstyle."
Coastliners by Joanne Harris
The Book of Air and Shadows by Michael Gruber (mmmmmmm...maybe not. The Shakespeare-era backstory might be tough)
